Park Shore
Naples’ upscale Park Shore area offers majestic sunsets, Venetian Village’s wealth of shopping opportunities, challenging golf in a community of awe-inspiring beachfront properties. Park Shore is north of The Moorings, and is surrounded by unspoiled sugary sand beaches and Venice-like canals.
Park Shore consists of about 500 home sites set in a zigzagging park-like property, with beachside parkland and especially designed open spaces. Half a dozen luxury high rises, priced from 750,000, dot the beach.
Park Shore Optional Private Clubs
As befits such an elegant community, there are several private club options. The Floridian is located on Vanderbilt beach, which the Travel Channel has named one of the top ten on the planet.
Like most of Florida, Naples’ climate is semi-tropical, so it is agreeably dry and warm during months that are wintry up north. It features tranquil streets lined with ancient trees, flowers and plants everywhere. There is little or no crime to worry about, and the city is very clean and well-maintained.
Park Shore Attractions
There are no unsightly industrial areas, as the town’s economy depends on second home buyers and service establishments. Park Slope and greater Naples real estate runs the gamut from bay front, beachfront estate homes within gated and non-gated communities.
Local attractions and activities range from a zoo, to swamp buggy rides, to alligator farms, to casinos. Go back to a simpler time when you visit Palm Cottage House Museum and Norris Gardens. House tours and more extensive walking tours of the entire historic district are available.
Visit Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a wildlife preservation area in Big Cypress Swamp, featuring ecosystems as varied as cypress forest, marshland, pine uplands and wet prairie. You can stroll a boardwalk on a two mile interpretive hike. Bring grandma, because there are plenty of rest areas along the way. There are orchids and all types of local fauna. Or take an informative naturalist tour.
Cruise Naples Bay with any of several tour operators. See dolphins and other marine wonders. Or take a dinner cruise. Ride the ferry to Key West on a daylong or overnight excursion. You can even visit the Everglades’ ten thousand islands.
